Hammers Are Swinging
Finally, foundation is poured and a great crew is on site swinging their hammers. Yeah! progress is being made. So my contractor has put me to work shopping plumbing and hardware. So many choices.....

I am thinking (obsessing) over my kitchen. I have to pick the cabinet guy so that he can start building. This means it is decision time on cabinet style, color, appliances, hardware, etc.!!! My last house had very a very traditional look. Linen White shaker style cabinets, stainless appliances and granite. I think I want to go more modern and clean looking. This is the dream kitchen I found in House Beautiful. I tore this out of the magazine and have had it in my ever expanding file for a while. I want some color, but neutral warm tones since this will be open to the family room.
After all the horrible storms across the south Wednesday night the sun came out in Atlanta on Thursday and my contractor was able to have cement poured for footings. Needless to say we will be pouring a toast to celebrate the progress!! That is our contractor, Christian McClure with his little boy in the picture. He is this fantastic laid back southern guy (who doesn't like a dad that brings his son out to watch cement being poured). His company is Woodfield Construction Group. I really like his style and am enjoying working with him, but I probably scare him each day I remind him we are moving in by the end of June.....stay tuned.
