Thursday Touch Ups

I wrote yesterday about trying to step out of the box and paint my Ballards console silver.  I wasn't happy with the finish.  It was not as shiny as I had wanted.  I was trying for a polished chrome look.  Here it is silver.

I picked up some gold paint and now all is good. It looks just like brass.

I have to get shelving.  The original was with clear glass, but I am thinking antiqued mirrored might jazz it up even more.

Also, yesterday I did some touch up on my barn door. Some how my contractor couldn't find all of the powder coated screws to match the hardware so he had to use a couple of silver ones and the board he mounted it on needed painting.

See those silver screws just glaring at you!

The only oil rubbed bronze I could find that might match was spray paint and that would not have worked.  So, I mixed up a little craft paint to match.  Then I broke out the wall paint to do the mounting board.  Now it is really done.

Amazing how little things make a difference.  Enjoy your weekend!

Love the gold/brass look.... think an antiqued mirror would look great on top. Love the orange barn door too!

I love your sliding barn door! That is at the top of my list of the things I want when I'm no longer renting. I have to agree with you on the silver spray paint- I have painted a lot of things in my house silver and while I love it, it doesn't give you that shiny, chrome look. Still looking for "chrome in a can"...I'm sure it's out there!!
Found you from the blog Mix And Chic. I'm a new follower- glad to have found you!
