Where Is The Shine???

I finally got around to working on the great console that I found at the Ballards outlet last month.  I wrote about it here.  It was gold and the finish was pretty beat up.  I knew I would have to paint it and get glass for the shelves. So, yesterday I primed it.

I really am liking gold these days, but thought maybe shiny silver would give it a more modern twist.  So, I went against my gut and bought silver.

I really wanted a polished chrome look.  But, alas it was not anywhere near as shiny as the cap.  

Thinking there must be a pot of GOLD at the end of this before & after rainbow.  I am off to Home Depot today......
